So, there were some pretty big developments yesterday, in case you missed them. Two new criminal probes announced: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-09-19/corinthian-colleges-faces-further-criminal-investigations.html (writer's contact info included for those of you interested) and ACCSC placed us under accreditation warning: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/accreditation-agency-places-corinthian-under-224105369.htm. The CFPB lawsuit was filed Tuesday: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/09/16/cfpb-corinthian-colleges_n_5832540.html. Not a coincidence as word is spreading and more and more agencies are getting involved. Consumer groups in several states (including FL) are requesting that their AGs join the other states (eg IL) in forbidding CCi from enrolling new students. There will undoubtedly be more bad news to come next week. If you are on furlough next week, use EVERY MINUTE of it to aggressively job search!

All Healds are WASC accredited.
141, that's a national accreditation that some Everests have. Most, if not Healds are WASC.
It's too late for this to occur now, and I admit there would have been a lot of downside, but what we as CCI employees should have done is banded together, approached an investment bank about financing, and bought the company from JackASS and his cronies. As I said... too late now.
151, as a former resume writer (and business instructor) I always tell people that if there are 200 resumes per job, you need to make sure yours lands at the top of the pile. You don't necessarily need to hire a resume writer (quality varies widely), but it could be worth the money. You can find someone in all budgets. But at the very least, look at examples in your field. And cover letters, too. It is shocking how bad resumes and cover letters can be. You have to be at the top. The market is tight and full time jobs are getting harder to find. It's not a great market right now. But it's still possible to find work. Go beyond job boards. Knock on doors. Make phone calls. You have to put in the work.
Anonymous39144 -- I believe that everyone I know is looking at this point. I'm a manager and have been getting 3-4 requests to act as a reference every week (which I'm of course happy to do, I'm looking too). The issue is the intensity of the job search. In this market, it really needs to be another full-time job. It has to move beyond the more passive means, such as sending in resumes and stock cover letters. You have to pound the pavement, make inquiries at oompanies that have not posted openings, and tailor both your resume and cover letter to each job/company/industry. My impression is that a lot of our already overworked, maybe even depressed employees are being very lackadaisical in their searches. It will be harder when you're unemployed. The furlough comment is important - if you are on furlough next week you should spend at least 40 hours actively looking for work.
Don't forget unethical, faculty, that pass students, so we can keep the money flowing, even though the students should really be getting specialized disabled student services. Its no wonder they cant get a job.
Anonymous39141 - No. Heald schools are all WASC accredited. I wouldn't be surprised if they're looking into our situation though. At this point there seems to be credible evidence of unethical behavior across the spectrum of administrative departments - admissions, placement, and now financial aid.
Agreed. But I think those who have not been looking have made their decision to wait and see what happens. It's a terrible, terrible decision not to look. I started looking the day after the announcement in June. I got a job offer yesterday. It could take months to find something. I really hope you all are smart and look if you haven't. There's little chance we are going to sell at this point. And if we do, what employees they might keep will be offered much less money than what we make, even with the 10% cut. It's never going back to it's heydey. CCI won't exist soon and there are no guarantees.
Are all CCI schools in this accreditation?
