Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

I'm pissed off that I have to take furlough and print double-sided when Socle doesn't - I'm going to ED & the FLA AG!

BTW, I know about the attendance removal and backdating drops. That is fraud, pure and simple. Those students deserve a portion of their financial aid whether we charge them tuition or not. Financial aid isn't just intended for direct costs, that's clearly stated in the FSA handbook (along with many other rules that Socle and CCi don't follow). I have lots of examples of that particular fraud to pass along, as I've known it was wrong and have been collecting the students' info.

39132 ~ I am not a POS nor am I SOCLE management. Go ahead and continue to bad mouth the company. Then try to find another job with a bad reputation on your resume. Your choice. You can all bad mouth SOCLE all you want and I'll continue to clean up your FA messes. Good luck to you!

Anonymous39121 -- Sounds like a good furlough project! Don't forget to devote most of your time off to job searching, though.

Anonymous39047: I'm not sure how you posted two comments at the exact same time and with the same ID, but obviously the same person. You're obviously Socle management and obviously panicking about this. Do you really think that coming onto our board and trying to dissuade us from taking action will work? So your one-two punch method is to say, basically (1) If you let anyone know what's been going on here you'll get fired from your new job! and (2) No government agencies, clients or media have any interest in CCi or Socle so you'd just be wasting your time! Yeah, right. You've got lots of reason to be panicking, and these latest affronts to your employees are just going to make the shit storm that much worse for you. Don't insult us and our intelligence, you useless POS!

With the new crimonal investigations that specifically call out Socle (financial aid) I think it's time for another email campaign to make sure the client colleges know who they're in bed with. Texas A&M, Grace Divinity, Lake Sumter, Grayson College, and North Central Texas College are clients, and several posters on her have also mentioned Oral Roberts U, East West University, and NY Film Academy. Most are just for default management servicing. Probably best to be comprehensive. Since whatever middle managers hired Socle obviously didn't do their homework, best to send info higher up. A list of links to the various criminal complaints and lawsuits is a good start. The new FL financial aid one is on top, followed by a couple of articles about how unethical CCi's default management practices have been, like this one: http://higheredwatch.newamerica.net/blogposts/2012/the_real_story_behind_corinthian_colleges_plummeting_default_rates-72503

Anonymous39111 - I'm not Socle and committed no fraud, but I've worked in FA at other colleges and I read the FSA handbook at night. I've long had suspicions that some of the ways Socle was operating were illegal, and now I know specifically what was illegal and what to look for. Whine all you want, but know not to try to find your next job in education.

Texas A&M, Grace Divinity, Lake Sumter, Grayson College, North Central Texas College that I know of, but I have a contact at Socle so I will make sure that's all of them on Monday.

Why didn't you all do this when you were committing these acts? When your paychecks were high, you could committ FA fraud. Now that your angry it's wrong? Shane on you.

Anonymous39047 - How transparent and desperate! Coming on here and trying to tell us that providing evidence to ED, CFPB and the state AGs won't amount to anything. New charges every day after ex-employees have been saying on here for four months that they were working with these agencies. Oh yeah, they're OBVIOUSLY not interested in what we have to say and provide for them. Monday I'm finishing my list of students (so far three dozen) that have RT4 fraud.

Anonymous39047 - I've got a new job and have already told them how distressing being Everest SF has been with Socle committing so much fraud. They are horrified. Socle staff are already figuring out they need to look outside the industry. Those of us in SF have it clear we were providing service to students and doing our best to minimize your fraud. Being CCi comes up in interviews and we tell it like it is. Sorry to be throwing the worker bees under the bus with your managers, but you should have left years ago. You saw it every day.

Faculty - you're not faculty and everyone here knows it. They've just been charged by the Florida AG (Pam Bondi, whom I contacted yesterday) with financial aid fraud, and I know all about it. SAs do you, since you're also Socle obviously. BTW, it's not THEIR financial aid, and that attitude is why we're in so much trouble. I have a list of their clients. I'm now emailing all of them about the financial aid fraud. Everything goes away now. I start my new job (public in Central FL) end of October, but I'm sticking around to get more evidence on these SOBs.

Socle employees this isn't about you. It's about the higher ups running the ops. It's much bigger than you so stop whining about being picked on. You have no power. We are after the execs.

Hate to rain on your parade 060 but SOCLE clients and potential clients know what is going on. So much jealousy over SOCLE. Disgusting!

The execs stand to cash in from CCI's demise. That's why they were pumping money into SOCLE they knew this for a long time. They don't give a $hit about CCI students or employees But don't worry there little plan will backfire. Here are some of thier Socle Education clients Lake Sumter Community College and Grace College of Divinity. There is one more in Texas, but I can't think of the name. Contact their people and let them know what is really going on with this company. Still think everyone is picking on poor little CCI? It's time to wake up and smell the cafe con leche.

Tsk tsk it is too bad there is so much hatred. Good luck getting new jobs with your attitudes. Further ruining the reputation of the company you currently or formerly worked for will really enhance your future employment opportunities. Seems you would not want to sully where you sit.

Going to the FL AG or DOE (Florida or federal) is tantamount to writing your grievance on the back of a shitroom door. Go to Dick Durbin or Pat Fitzgerald via letter.

Time for everyone to start squealing like piggy's to the proper authorities about CCi... Lets see how management likes getting bent over without any lube for a change!

Yeah, the blatant inequity of it bugs me too, and I'm benefiting from it. I'm in. Let's show MF Jacko that treating your employees like shit can hurt you in the end. I'll be gone soon. Need to take lots of documentation with me to help ED stop Socle from continuing on. I'm on it first thing Monday, and I have some good ideas of where to start looking.

Ha ha! So they furlough us at EUO Tampa, but not Socle Tampa, which of course we're going to find out about. We eat together for God's sake! Of course we know that you still have your fancy expresso machine and lots of toner. Then you give us a week off with nothing to do but stew. Can't go anywhere because we're not getting paid and will probably be out of work soon. How ironic if a bunch of us used that time to draft letters to ED, the CFPB, the CA, FL, and GA AGs, and the press, all telling what we know and naming names! Screw you assholes!

Trust me, you don't know RT4 fraud until you've seen what we get up to with online attendance. Seriously, you would not believe how blatant it is. It looks like FL is investigating us, finally! I really thought that maybe they were going to be too lame and "business oriented" to get involved. I'm on furlough for a week, so I'll draft a nice long letter to Pam Bondi.
