Go ahead and walk out. Be sure and take your personal property with you, since you won't need to return.

So lets put the online myth to bed. The only students who did well in the online environment that I know of were former on ground Art Institute of Pittsburgh grads form the old AS degree program who came back to get their BS degrees. They were working professional and knew what the on ground standards and expectations were and delivered. The online division of The Art Institute of Pittsburgh is an abject failure, and one of the leading factors in the downfall of EDMC.

You might want to look in the mirror Anonymous40478, not all of us work in an at will sate. So who is the moron? Way to think that through.

They don't owe us any explanation. Let me guess, are you an "OHE" employee that still thinks you have that entitlement? Time to realize OHE is off the map and it is part of the ground school system.

I suspected that I worked with morons, but this post takes the cake and confirms that. Let's organize a walk out in an at will state so they can have reason to fire us and not have to pay us severance.....way to think that through....

I just gave two weeks notice a few days ago. New job wants me to start right away. Of course I expected them not to be happy about me leaving but my god, they threw everything at me from being unloyal, not dedicated, unprofessional to never work in education again. Ha, ha, it took a new job to realize how self inflated some people at EDMC. They need to look into the mirror, their corporate actions are far worse then what they accused me of and their glory days are over. Can't wait to be out of there.

Whether you are right or wrong in your opionions of the company, I would like to think that everyone who posts on this blog has 2 eyes, 2 ears, 1 mouth, and a little common sense. At the end of the day, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the reality that the industry as well as EDMC is trending downward. Rather than dwell on whether or not you will have jobs, or when the next round of layoffs will be, it seems to be better use of time to focus on moving forward and finding your next career opportunity. You don't need to see the building burn to realize it's on fire.

No need to bicker over who is right, who is wrong, who is screwing who. Anyone who isn't brain dead can see that EDMC is struggling.

If you choose to stick it out and weather the storm, or if you choose to move on in your career, best wishes either way.

As an ex-employee who has moved on to bigger and better things, my best advice is to do whatever is best for your personal situation. If you are not happy, then move on. Take my word for it, there is a world out there aside from EDMC!

Anonymous40157, people expect transparency. What's wrong with that? They bust their asses to make money for a company who turns around and raises insurance and takes away their retirement. Please, don't play some stupid word game about being happy to have a job or some other "be grateful" comment Most people can barely afford to even go to work since the costs have increased and living expenses go up as well. The company preaches ethics and morals but practices deceit and dishonesty. You're an asshole for suggesting it's above anyone's pay scale. People have families and simply want to provide. Don't be a dick.

Listen, while that sounds good in theory the fact remains that your campus president will continue to tow the company line. You'll be considered someone who quit then replaced. They will not say or admit anything simply because they honestly don't care. You are expendable. There really isn't anything you can do but your best and hope your work approach allows you to gain another opportunity. Don't let their ignorance cause you to act out in a way that hurts you in the long run. They'll use it against you for unemployment. Be smarter than the ones calling the shots.

I guess I wonder what your questions are. And then, why you would feel entitled to know what's going on. It's not your company. This is all above your pay grade.

And then let's say you did have a walk out and got some response. Haven't you read any previous communications? Do you think it'd be more than ambiguous corporate jargon?

Just do your job and work on a plan B. It's all being worked out. There's no reason for them to communicate anything to you. And it's ludicrous and kind of funny to read that you all expect that kind of treatment.

Yes, where is the so called transparency. I am going to talk to some of my coworkers, if we can get enough people to do it, they will at least tell us whats going on. It's the least they could do. Not like we are asking for more money.
