I am an adjunct and will be quitting as soon as I turn in my final grades this term. I am so tired of working 7 days a week, babysitting students and doing outreach. I am going back to teaching corporate learners/training. Good luck to everyone still looking for a job.

40357, chill out. The email that was sent out about the furloughs directly referred to admissions and career services employees as non-essential. So if you're going to get pissy at anyone, get pissy at administration, or Massimino. And just so we're clear, a school can't run without instructors. It CAN run with reduced staff.
Anonymous40343 -- I love how you guys think. The rest of us are "unessential" in your eyes? Well, I wouldn't quit your 4 adjunct jobs, because your "skills" tend not to translate into employment opportunities.
Wow what a load of crap. Professors at Everest are glorified baby sitters. They have lesson plans written for them and are only their to grade students. Only reason they didn't take furlough is the DOE requirements that classes keep moving and grades get posted. Without front line admission and finance employees our teachers would be without a job.
The professors generate the money. That's why professors aren't taking unpaid weeks off. The nonessential staff gets the furloughs.
Glad to hear so many people are leaving. Maybe if enough leave we won't have another furlough.
