Thread regarding Education Management Corporation layoffs

AI

I can tell you that all the Art Institute faculty members in the west were sent forms to be filled out requiring us to qualify each class we teach. We have to explain all assignments and how they fit the course competencies, what degree level we have, how each lesson plan relates to the course, what other qualifications we have to teach a course... This is all information that has been answered many times in the past. About 2 weeks ago security was increased and all staff and faculty must swipe their badge at the security guard's booth. Our Academic Director's email tone was much different from past correspondences - very blunt and mentioned that these forms were being required by Amir Nilipour (a complete ass-hat from my past meetings with him).

Improvement and Compliance Through Self-Assessment

This past April, we launched a comprehensive Self-Assessment Program with the goal of evaluating our operations and business practices against our organizational goals to ensure alignment with current policies and regulations. By understanding the day-to-day activities of our diverse locations and departments, we can identify where we excel and conversely, what we need to evaluate more closely. With the support and engagement of our campus presidents and their staff, we’ve been able to roll out the program to Marketing/Admissions, Student Affairs/Services, Academics/Accreditation and the Registrars at each location. In the coming months, the exercise will extend to Campus Finance, Career Services, IT and HR.

This crucial activity helps us provide quality education to our students and shows our continued commitment to integrity, honesty and excellence in our business practices. As we work together, we will be able to share our best practices and develop ways to improve our students’ experiences and day-to-day operations.

What kind of corp. double speak is this????

You know, you might be on the something. 1 more lawsuit is not going to make or break them. But imagine if an individual lawsuit was filed on each campus across the US! 50 lawsuits from 50 different people for 50 different reason, in 50 different states that would keep them buisy. Not class action but 50 individual complaints.

Increase security? Ha, ha, that's funny, they must really be scared of you guys. Did they set up metal detectors yet? News Flash, if you really want to get even the best way to hurt them is in the pocket book. Lawsuit number 15?
