Last couple times they did a layoff no Admissions reps were let go. Thoughts?

In the next few weeks I think all employees will be suddenly asked to immediately vacate the building and the doors will be locked so that the creditors can sell off the furniture. Staff will be left unpaid and students out on the street with little prospects of finishing their studies or getting transfer credits for most of their classes.

If the focus was shifted from App Count Ups to actually focusing on long term achievements, this company would not be in the situation it is right now. Their outlook is all wrong on what it means to be a successful institution, and it shows. Unfortunately for those who work there, they will never admit that and will continue to ram the company into the ground until it is non-existent. Which is pretty much happening now. Brace yourselves folks, it's about to get out of control before it gets better. I don't care how much "restructuring" they're doing. When a company is run by crooks no matter what the title or the set up, it will not flourish.
Actually 41710 I am currently an EDMC employee that is always cleaning up admission's messes. I am also trying to get out and trying to support my family. However, it does not excuse admission practices or management decisions. I would love to see admissions and EDMC go down one crooked person at a time. There's no need to get offended if the shoe doesn't fit.
Hey 41669 - What crawled up your ASS! Not everyone at EDMC are evil creatures. Don't forget there are people fighting bad admission practices and being there to support the students no matter what. Yes I disagree with the poor management but am looking to get out. I need a paycheck to help support my family but still fight for my students as much as possible. Perhaps you were an evil admissions disgruntled past employee. I hate this place and people like you are a prime example. Oh and go F yourself!
I actually just chuckled at the previous post. Finally some transparency. "Yes, we were scumbags.. but, we're not now.. because.. we're not allowed to be.."
We don't get paid commission on students anymore. That's why there is a lawsuit.
I used to teach at Ai but I left, could not stand the corporate culture. During my time there, I had no idea admissions was getting paid on commission. Looking back I should have seen the red flags. Every time I did an open house event, the admission people would come up to me so stockishy happy and wanted me to do more events. If I would have know they made $800 a student things would have been different, I would have complained. And by the way, not a single one so much as bough me a cup of coffee for helping them make several thousand dollars in one day. LOL My point is, it was always a boiler room, they never cared about students at all. I am glad the government finally looked into it, something needed to be done.
Admissions and EDMC are one in the same. They lie, cheat and steal, while others have to clean up the mess they have created. Both evil creatures that have sold their soul in order to make money. They both deserve whatever karma has in store for them!

They have turned admissions into a boiler room style sales team with daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly targets and goals. It's not about students any more, it's about the application count. What ajoke...
