Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Performance Based Layoffs (not)

The jobs cuts are not based on performance rather than the relationship you have with your manager and immediate bosses. Being in sales for more than 5 years, always exceeded goals and was acknowledged YoY. Over the years i have seen employees who perform are given the axe, whilst there some who continue to remain, despite having nothing to do. I know of favorites who contributed literally nothing, still remained whilst teams that performed bringing in the money were gone. John Chambers needs to go and along with him the Grim Reaper Gary Moore.

agree it's all about the "tight" relationship you have with your immediate managers. It Definitely isn't about performance or your attainment. If you're not in your boss rear, then don't be surprise when your marker gets called. Jungle law!!! There was guy who was in banking, new to the team but that dude converted their most difficult acct, and he got hit simply because he didn't suck-up to the OD / CD. And that dude supposely was some type of super SE and won their Chairman's Club multiple times. which means he is in the top 2% of all Cisco SE's, and he got f@#$. which means, anyone can get the ax. true story, could be made for TV.
