Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

A few notes on the sentiment that Socle is separate from CCi...

1.) Your SVP (highest ranking officer) of Student Finance Operations (Kim Dean) reports to a CCi executive.

2.) Socle employees were subject to the same compensation reductions as the rest of CCi.

3.) You have no "articles of incorporation" filed in any state. Whether you are General Electric or M&P's café, you have to file the articles. Whether or not the firm is publicly traded or closely held, SE listing (or inclination to do so) has nothing to do with your establishment with the IRS or state departments of revenue. Socle has never legally separated itself from CCi, nor as it made any initiatives to do so.

4.) Socle employees and Everest Online (sub-division of CCi) share the same floor space in Colorado Springs. If Socle is a separate entity, how can they violate FERPA regulations by sharing common floor space with Everest University Online.

5.) Socle commands unilateral directive/approval over training materials and job aids for student finance processes within the school.

Management may have used sovereignty as a placation tool, but Socle is very much a part of CSC. ITs only difference is that it was the only CCi facet of operations that was able to implement the ASO (Administrative Services Model) that David P. Planed for the whole corporation. Regardless, Socle is CCi, and I hope someone can prove the contrary.

29390 - Ah, I remember the floor huddles. You would think they'd at least do that weekly to touch base on how things are going. I heard we have an all-staff coming up the week of Labor Day.

Who gets updates? We don't get weekly floor huddle or any information about what is going on at all with SOCLE. Manager's personal lives are none of my business but when my non paid days off help pay for travel~ that's not happening. No non paid days off for this guy

Nice to see that Socle senior managers all have the same traits (reference post from Socle employee) in common about dating reps! Online already knows what BC was up to while here. SMH But rumor has it BC stopped dating reps and moved on to a regional(IL).

Also Kim Dean is listed under the CCI executive mangement team. Socle nothing more then a different department like finance and purchasing it just has a fancier name. http://investors.cci.edu/management.cfm

I don't want to speak for anyone else, but I have hear my coworkers express some of the same. Things just suck around here. Management is just feeding us BS about the future, but there is nothing to support their meaningless speeches. I don't believe Socle will be big, we have no clients. When Heald sells, they will not keep our services. With enrollments down for Everest & WyoTech, we will have too much staff. I am just here for now to collect my paycheck (while they last). I came from online thinking it would be different here, but it is not. Same sh*t, different desk.

Socle is the same as any other CCi brand, the plan has been to keep the wool pulled over employees' eyes so that they keep working hard and are positive around customers. With Everest, Heald, and WyoTech the customers are the students (and potential students). Socle is different in that it has outside clients besides CCi. There are only a handful, most are only for default avoidance cold calls, and they are charged very little to develop a "customer base" that we can grow on. Still, at this point we can't have them and their meager payments dwindle. I work at Tampa EUO and know lots of Socle folks. The kool-aid they are given is super strong! And quite a few of them, really believe what they're being told (1) Socle is unrelated to CCi, (2) these issues won't affect Socle, and (3) Socle is going to be huge!

I am so damn tired of non-employee trolls (lying assholes) getting on our board (yes, I said it, OUR BOARD). Everything the OP said is accurate to the last detail. I don't know what motive drives all you bored, worthless losers to post inaccurate information, but it's getting old. You all clearly have zero life if the best use of your time is going onto a layoff board for a company you don't even work for, to post random inaccurate "info". I've been in the Colorado Springs Socle/EUO office since before Socle was Socle (it was SFS - Student Finance Support). There isn't even a wall or an empty aisle separating Socle cubicles from Everest cubicles. We are in the same room. We were asked to take 5 unpaid days off, and unfortunately some of the employees here have taken the days off. I was really hoping everyone would give that plan the middle finger, but I guess some people can afford it. Our manager and senior manager have both quit in the last few months, although the senior manager was miraculously brought back into the company with a newly-created position title and she is allowed to travel to our location on the company's dime, since she already moved to another state with her boyfriend (bf used to be a level I rep here btw, and the senior manager and him had quite the office romance going on - she spent most of her days sitting over by his cubicle giggling). Anyway, I digress. My point is, we're just as SOL as every other CCi entity, and we're real people with families; we need jobs as much as everyone else.

Anonymous29229, Please explain. An argument has been given, but "You've got it all wrong" falls short of a rebuttal. Seriously, explain yourself, because you seem to be hiding behind a self imposed veil of ignorance. Spell it out, how is Socle sovereign from CCi?

You've got it all wrong. 1. Socle is golden. 2. Socle is buying CCi.
