for those of you waiting on things to just happen....Its easier for you to find a job when you have a job and it could take weeks for the screening process.

People claim that, but I've never found it to be true. It takes a lot of time to uncover openings. Still, anybody not looking is not wise. If people get jobs before the company closes, great. If they don't manage to, don't put them down.
Weeks? Try months. I started applying the day if the announcements. I'm close to a job, but still waiting to hear. I haven't yet heard back on most if my applications. Don't wait. You'll be competing for the same jobs as your unemployed colleagues.
