Class Action Lawsuit, what a joke. The only ones that get any money from a class action lawsuit are the lawyers, everyone else gets peanuts.
Bottom line: instructors in CA are hourly employees. If they've been treated otherwise there's a lawsuit.
I would really like to know what firm sent this out. This post reeks of troll, but I'd still be in on a Class Action if there was one.
Instructors who teach in CA stand to gain the most from this (if it's indeed a real thing), since CA has the strictest labor laws. I'm not sure how CCI hasn't been cited for violation of labor laws yet, although the forced logging of hours was probably due to impropriety too. (I'm online in another state and we don't have to log hours, only submit a blank timesheet!)
I recieved it and so did several other instructors. I am choosing to give any information they may need so long as it is my truth. they can call and ask me about my hours worked. Remember not so Long ago when we did not have to clock in and all we did was manually input our hours? Well as an instructor if I was teaching 8-12 I was not allowed to stay a minute passed- to call students -I had to complete all of my admin within those 4 hours. But what if a student detained me ? Or I had calls to follow up on? We were advised to "correct" our time sheet.
Insurance covers this type of claim
There will be no way to collect, and that's only if there is a case.
Prove it and type some of it out
Are they suing because we are Outreach specialists, not instructors?
Nope.
And what would that lawsuit be for?
