Quote: "The first layoff (Sept 5, 2013) was on a Thurs before a working Friday. -- You are in error, good sir. The first MASS LAYOFF was on April 18, 2013, when CSW fired 420 + employees. In fact, there were 2 or 3 "mini-layoffs" that happened before that as well, that were kept very quiet and were only reported on this site as of the 18 April culling. Unless you were speaking of your directly affected group, I can't understand how you would miss that unless you were hired in the Summer of 2013. Good day to you!

Don't believe anything your manager tells you regarding layoffs. HR and your manager will make recommendations, but these can and will be over-ridden by corporate depending on budget. I don't think any managers relish having to fire people, and the fact that corporate forces them to is actually a good thing, no matter if your manager is a complete jerk.

Okay so the consensus is that tomorrow is the layoffs. What about who gets laid off? Have you heard of people being laid off that the mangers have asked to be kept?

One of the previous layoffs was halfway through a pay period. No I'm not the same person who said it is the 28th.

I thought layoffs were always the Thursday before pay day. The last pay day was 8/22 which would make the next one be 9/5. Where did you get your info that it would be 8/28? Also, does anyone know if people have been laid off that managers did not recommend that they be laid off?

I heard 75-125 from Engineering. Don't know if that is true or not.
