Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

ECMC The Truth

ECMC is looking to buy what is internally referred to as Everest+ which includes all Everest Ground, Online and WyoTech. Heald, Quickstart and Canada will be sold separately as individual school groups to other buyers.

ECMC is not just buying student debt. The sale of Everest+ is not final but very close, the final "T's & I's" need to be completed and the DOE must sign off on the buyer. (Which shouldn't be a problem because ECMC is the debt collector the DOE contracts for their student loans)

Jobs at CSC are not guaranteed "safe" once a sale is finalized. There will be further review of staffing level and department needs prior to a transition should the sale get approved.

If you are lucky enough to still be employed by a compliant Everest campus, you're about to get a second chance. Don't f it up. For those employees who are still working for an Everest campus that has been deemed non compliant by the FDOE and ECMC, you get what you deserve, locks on the doors. That's what happens when your campus is run by greedy, incompetent campus presidents, DOA's, RDOA's and RVP's. Crime and greed does not pay off in the long run, you get what you get. F you!

ECMC will only be purchasing select Everest campuses that are in compliance with FDOE regulations. Only a couple dozen Everest campuses will be purchased by ECMC. Wyotech, Heald and remaining non compliant Everest campuses are still looking for a buyer. If they cannot find a buyer by Jan 1st those campuses students will be transfered to other colleges and or taught out and closed.

That is excellent news! Any word from the DOE if they will approve it? When will it be announced? There are going to be some very relieved employees once that comes out..

There's no possible way in one week they are anywhere near a deal. And the DE approval will not happen.

This sounds like a Compliance Nightmare and wouldn't this scenario be deemed as a conflict of interest, especially with the DOE approving a Sale involving a contracted "debt collector" attempting to purchase not only debt, but a school that produces such debt?

-just an initial question as I process this possibilty.
