Just heard from people in Torrance, West Los Angeles and Gardena. Looks like 3 ladies with clipboards asking specific questions about the Jobs board (where do the leads come from, etc), tutoring (who's qualified to tutor) and most interestingly, admissions practices and follow ups with new students. Also asked how finance deals with students who are late with payments. They introduced themselves as "We're from ECMC". They seem pleasant but only interested in certain aspects of the school. They refused a tour of any classrooms, labs and even the student break room and bookstore.

The description of the 3 woman fits the description of the 3 that are here right now in COI. Very friendly but when I told them I'm an instructor they pretty much ended the conversation and started talking to the CP. They definitely know exactly what they're looking for and it isn't the education. If they buy, they're bringing in their own people.
828, they will anyway. The students at Everest would likely be unable to handle the curriculum at another school.
93 - good point.
The feds have accomplished what they set out to do. Put Corinthian Colleges out of business. If it's a non-profit that is looking to buy the feds will let the sale go through. They don't want to be stuck with over a billion dollars in student loans. If it were a for-profit looking at the schools that wouldn't go very well.
Having worked at several for profits, I can tell you that the level of technology in the labs and classrooms is beyond important. It's one of the selling features to students. And frankly, they surpass most non for profit schools. They're key to the on site classroom experience. If a potential buyer isn't looking at what's there, IMO, they aren't interested in the instruction. And since many programs require the most up to date technology, what's available is key. Then again, if Everest doesn't own the buildings or equipment, they might have to bring in their own anyway.
820, right? That's exactly what conclusion I came to.
They're interested in vying loans and trying to weigh if it's worth the cost!!!! Duh!!!!!!!
People with clipboards aren't always good news . . .
Job Boards and tutoring? Are we sure these are potential buyers and not investigators into some of the alleged fraud? Both false job placement and having students waive tutoring have been discussed in the media and on here. Just saying.
Don't get too excited everyone. Once the FA fraud (attendance and grade changes) is uncovered, a sale is unlikely anyway. ALOT has to happen for any sale to go through.
They were at SCS for two weeks and are touring some Everest campuses. Not sure of their names but they are interested in Everest and Wyotech. There was a post last week that also talked about this. Don't know if it's ECMC but it is a non-profit company that would need most of the current employees. Hopefully they make a decision in a week or two. Now watch out for the trolls to bash this.
Who the hell cares about seeing a classroom? I'd be more interested in the issues that's causing the school to be sold in the first place. i.e. admissions, student services and finance. If those are failing there won't be anyone sitting in a classroom. It's amazing that this seems to be legit info but the douches who've camped out on this site flooding it with garbage nonsense every day try to discredit it instantly. OP isn't saying the schools are being sold, they're just saying there are people at those locations being shown around. Stop trying to act so smart. Go get a sandwich, put it in your mouth so you don't look so stupid when you speak.
Peter, you need to stop crying wolf!
LB, COI and WLA is ONE OPE ID.
They're interesting in buying a piece of the school, if anything.
They don't want to see classrooms but they're buying the school? That makes NO sense. If this is true, which seems unlikely, that's an indication they are only interested in very specific processes.
Right. Touring more campuses? The big 'announcement' was supposed to already have hapoened. How could they be about to close a deal and touring cpuses? Oh. They're not.
They are only interested to tour in specific school. What does that mean ?

I heard they are only visiting schools close to the 405 freeway so the locations above and LB would be just about right. I wonder if they are going up to Reseda since that is close to the 405 or if they are staying near a larger cluster of locations which would also make sense.
We have visitors coming out this week to the LB campus this week. It might be them
