Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

Everyone Should Remember There's a BIG Difference Between a Campus Tour and a Purchase Deal.

The company my husband is employed with was just bought out by another company (multi-billion corporations both.) The sale was announced early this winter and it won't close until the end of November. And that's the time it took after the purchasing company researched company, negotiated deal and did due diligence. This happens often in my husband's business. My point is it can take upwards to a year. It won't be look at a campus today and big announcement Friday. And just because someone is researching a campus, that doesn't mean they're interested in any or all colleges. They could want to buy loans, or processes (IT.) those are facts. But, let's not forget any accreditation bodies and DOE has to approve these sales. Much has to happen. Much.

Yes, much can happen. CCI can file for bankruptcy before anything else happens.

OP regarding you're comment on DOE approval is not an issue. The Dept of Ed is a customer of ECMC - they actually pay ECMC to do things so the Dept of Ed will approve there purchase of CCi. The accrediters will be okay with it to. Arn't the accrediters also CCi employees?
