Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

Socle still hiring

We all thought socle was going down with cci but I guess not. Just found out they hireda new Director and Manager. If I read between the lines I would say they relocated one of them since he just got to Colorado Springs from Arizona. Neither are internal hires, both new to cci and socle. I guess they have plenty of money to pad payroll with new management salaries and all the new positions they're filing. Can't imagine where the money is coming from, we have to process title 4 to get money and we're doing less of that with cci students dropping. We have a couple new clients but they are only signed for us to complete outreach phone calls for fafsa paperwork. We'll see where this all goes ina few months I guess.

Socle definitely needs It. Most of IT has j jumped ship and I am next. The application is too customized. They tries to hard to accomadate every client differntly. So everytime the get a new client all of this dev work has to be done. Every time they implement a new client they break something.

Made between 105 to 125. There company didnt give them the entire hourly rate. Just like any other contracting company does. The contractors get a portion of that rate. I am referring to Socle Education which those employeea think they are immune but if ypu take cci funding away socle Cant exist on its own period.

Anonymous33313: What contractors are being paid $150 to $200 an hour? Sure isn't the portal developers. There are only 2 Tallan contractors and they aren't making that dough. There are more than three Socle clients outside of outreach. There was something about two more clients that signed up for the FA part not outreach. The Socle IT footprint is rather small.

Wouldn't surprise me if Socle gets bought separate from CCI.

Socle is almost totally fependent on cci for its operating costs. So cci is paying for this. Socle has three clients. Sure athey are supposedly scheduled to puck up a couple more in October, but they practically gave socle service away to the first two clients just to get them to sign on in essence socle is funded by Cci. Socle has to pay for xonferwncea sales execs. IT Personnel and the it development costs which includes contractors at a rate of 150 to 200 dollars pwr hour, they did find a cheaper iffshore solution recently but the other contractors are still lingering. hardware coats. It come out of Ccis pockets. And cci's pocket s are quite shallow these days. Thats were some of the money is goung people. That and the ezecs xushy lifestyles.

Maybe they're actually hiring managers who will work. That would be quite a shock, wouldn't it? It would also, conveniently, free up even more of current managers time so they can be job hunting. I don't believe that they're making business decisions based upon what's best for the company, students, and employees. The top brass are looking out for themselves. That's always how it was when I was there. PIP then firing for anyone who didn't go along with the program (meaning who actually wanted to follow financial aid regs). Socle management are the laziest, most useless, petty, self absorbed people I have ever worked with.

Don't get too comfy. I worked at another for profit. The Dean had relocated from another state and worked one month before he hired me. One month I to the term, they announced a teach out. Why the approved $ for myself and a dean at corporate, likely knowing it was closing, is beyond my understanding. But it happened. My point is just don't read between any lines. Even a company that's folding needs leadership.

Socle management is so dense that they actually believe that they'll be fine. They've been happy as can be, really walking the talk when it comes to "business as usual." With the Tampa group, that means mostly socializing during their 3 hour lunch "meetings." After that they go in their offices, shut the doors, and play around with fantasy football, Facebook, etc all day. Not a friggin' care in the world, while it's obvious to everyone else that the company is crumbling all around us. The outreach clients pay jack squat. Fewer and fewer CCi students to process. It's pathetic!
