Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

So far I know of 8 people who have gotten PIPs this week!

And I don't socialize with that many staff, so the number has got to be much higher. What the hell is going on around here?!? Is this happening everywhere? The campuses haven't been posting to this board lately. I can't really blame them for not dropping by with all the trolls, but it seems like every post is EUO or CSC or Socle or adjuncts. Are there still regular staff at the campuses? Any increase in PIPs?

Give me a PIP! I will sing like a canary with exported interaction records as proof of the lack of integrity I see daily.

I got one (PIP) a few weeks ago for not doing enough outreach. Oh well, I was done at the end of the term anyway. I didn't get a Masters degree to be a babysitter to a bunch of "college" students.

Ironic, because all they had to do to get rid of adjuncts is to not assign any new classes. Makes me wonder why they are giving adjuncts PIP's.

33409 - "Otherwise, the less tenured person would have to be let go." We are not a union shop, so I don't belive this holds true. We are at-will employees who can be let go at any time, for any reason - as long as it is not an illegal reason (race, gender, etc....). I agree though, that a PIP is probably a kiss of death at this point, an makes it easier to deny unemployment.

I would suggest NOT using CCI computers for anything other than work (like coming here.) That could be grounds for firing and not getting unemployment. They aren't going to pay anyone who isn't actually working.

PIP's have increased and will continue to do so especially in admissions. This so that when their are more RIF, they can get rid of that person if there is a less tenured rep doing better than them. Otherwise, the less tenured person would have to be let go. Management has been told to put those on PIP that they don't want around. Also notice lower scores on observations all of a sudden. Make sure you are adding notes in CV as well. Constant reminders to do so from them will lead to centre cycle action as well.

As a student at a campus (Ontario Metro), I have seen a lot of staff leaving for "personal or family" reasons (not that the ship is sinking or anything like that). That might explain things.

Employees have definately left this board in droves. But come back when something's up. Trolls are pretty quiet then, since they have nothing real to offer anyway. But, there are a lot of posts about PIPs recently, so it seems like a new 'trend.' Don't know why though.

I've heard a couple of people complaining about pips in the breakroom the last few days. Seems odd.

CCi always issues a PIP then fires. I'd say the reason they want to start firing is to save money, and they can say that firing for cause is just business as usual. They're hoping that it won't create the concern that RIFs would. Sneaky, sleazy CCi in action!
