I'm an online adjunct who received an email this morning saying "If you receive this email, you are part of the group of instructors who have had their direct deposit for the 9/5 check reversed. Please do not use the funds deposited on your 9/5 check because your bank will be contacted to have those funds reversed." The excuse given is that we were overpaid 4 weeks ago. Normally I would believe an excuse given by an accountant, but I'm somewhat skeptical given CCi's record. Does anyone have additional information or a similar experience?

Ugh, sorry for the typos. Anyway, the pay discrepancy was noted several weeks ago.
OP, there is an explanation for the pay difference on the Ecollrge main psge. It's been up there for weekd.

This is the OP again. 650, the email specifically said that only some instructors were receiving it; I believe it's the instructors who just finished a 6 week course. 651, I agree that the pay should be prorated; that makes this all the more fishy, but it might be related to the fact that it was for a 6 week course (not a mini); this type of course might be new this semester; I had never seen this before (a 6 week course that begins at the beginning of the semester). 655, it didn't come from an accountant; it came from HHN who identifies himself as "Online Technologies, Everest University Online Division"; he's been around Everest for at least as long as I have been; I would have preferred that it came from an accountant, such as communications like this which I have received from other schools where I have taught.
That wouldn't have come from 'an accountant' anyway.
Funny! Should have picked a different dept. Instructor pay is pro rated. Every check is the same to the penny each term. If we were overpaid, we would have known it weeks ago. Dumb shits!!

I'm the OP. I've taught Strategies for Success for five years, first at ECP and now at EUO for three years. The textbooks we've used have been Sherfield et al., Feldman, and Staley. 639, your post makes me wonder who is doing the trolling.
