It was a vessel to milk title iv, disguised as a school. For years, CCI, UOP and other "schools" preyed on the most vulnerable in society to "get asses in classes." They paid used car salesmen (enrollment reps) lots of money to do this. When the government stepped in and made reasonable rules regarding it, CCI and it's ilk simply ignored it and paid fines. One day, the government got fed up and slapped CCI down. To anyone who thinks these mills are about education, one simply just needs to read the executive profiles of this companies to see otherwise. Traditional schools have education minded professionals in positions of leadership, CCI has hucksters and corporate sleaze. When your customers and investors get ripped off, you go under. In my opinion, Jack and his boys KNEW CCI was never a long term entity. They got what they could, when they could, and left a lot of damage to people's lives. I am glad this all happening, it is going to force the industry to clean up and provide value. Too bad CCIs remaining employees didn't have the foresight to see right in front of them.

One just needs to look at the responses to the OP to verify the accuracy of the post. CCI is not education, and it's employees only concern is their own jobs. They couldn't care less about the damage they did to countless people by lying to them and providing false information about their product. As long as they "gots ders", they also didn't care about following rules either. Personally, I am very happy they are soon out of a job...they get to spend a little time thinking about it. Maybe a little time on unemployment followed by a new job that pays 30% less then their current pay will humble them and give them a much needed attitude adjustment. Hopefully, CCI shutting down is a wake up call to the other boiler rooms in the industry.
OP you have more than one good point, and I am sure they won't be lost on the minority of rational people who read this board. However, the for profit subprime student loan demographic that fuel the CCi furnace was cultivated with bipartisan federal support and rewarded by Wall Street. Then came massive subprime defaults and coverups because of the ridiculous amount of money involved. Flashback to that mortgage nightmare, except this will be worse because there is not enough collateral to climb out of the sludge pit all of us created. No houses and no degrees and no jobs, just bitter stakeholders who vote.

No matter our position, we are all collaborators in this mess. Some lied, some falsified, some stole, and most were complacent. But we will all be paying for it. If that makes you want to puke, there may be hope for you as a human being.

OP is dead on, but nobody should be surprised that CCI employees would disregard it. CCI exclusively hires from the exact demographic that comprises it's student base: ghetto blacks, white trash, druggies, and anti-socials. A company that is comprised of that is not gonna be successful. Who is the first employee to call me a racist, and also proving my assertion as well?
