I doubt employees are willing to put in 100% until we know wtf is going on..........Can we just get unemployment already?

35514 - from what I'm seeing, the only people not looking have spouses who make good money so they feel they can make a job search their full-time job once they're gone. Probably not the best idea, since it is SO much easier to get a job when you have a job.
35520 - depends on what market you are in, are you able to relocate, what skill sets and positions associated with those skill sets, etc...There are jobs available and like 532 stated, it may benefit you to contact a headhunter.
520, it took me 3 months and a few disappointments. Don't give up!! My new job actually pays more. But I didn't just hit the job boards. I spent time researching company job boards. Not everything out there is on a job board. And it might be worth your while to spend a little money and get someone to fix up your resume. I know money is tight with furlough, but the investment might be worth it. You want yours to land on top, right? An expert can help make that happen.

No one is surprised and just like it took you several months to get something new doesn't mean everyone is walking around like zombies. Most people including myself have been looking for several months as well and still are waiting so don't be so quick to assume others are not doing the same thing just because you got a job offer today. I mean thats good for you but don't judge when you have no idea what others are doing. There are some people staying until the wheels fall off but trust that is a small percentage of people.
I think the bigger question is why is everyone so surprised? Why aren't you looking for a job? Thank GOD I got offered a new position this morning. No furlough for me. But it took months to find it. And it wasn't on a job board that I found it.
Sorry but you have to go more than a week without pay to qualify for unemployment benefits.
