DOJ Criminal Prosecutions in the Future?

“Certainly, there are cases where you also want to prosecute the company,” Caldwell said in an interview last week. “But I think you get the best outcome -- really across the board in terms of deterrence, in terms of the message to the public -- when you prosecute individuals.”.....http://www.businessweek.com/news/2014-09-12/enron-busting-godzilla-aids-governments-hunt-for-crime

EDMC management is like the Chris Christie bridge scandal. They will claim no knowledge and throw some little guy under the bus as a diversion technique. Then try to call it an aberration. "we're SHOCKED I tell you, SHOCKED, that an hourly employee would do such a thing. We have fired him/her and assure you we had no knowledge of this behavior, it was just a one time incident" LOL Mark my words, this is what they will say in a few years when it all rolls out and no one goes to jail. That is how White Collar criminals operate.

@Anonymous36452, Corinthian Colleges is the first major target. EDMC may already be on the radar....http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-corinthian-colleges-20140814-story.html

EDMC does not look like a target just yet. But since it IS so entwined with taking government money, the more they fight the Gov on the 11 billion lawsuit, the more people are going to show up on the radar. Hey fair is fair, the more you get paid, they more you should be willing to take responsibility for the actions of your corporation.

Should start at the West estate first! His house was on the news in Pittsburgh. It looked to be about 10,000 square feet, 92 ac nice property. I would imagine at least 3 to 5 million dollars maybe a lot more. The news crew did not get inside. As Ed was hiding behind the Jag in the garage and didn't answer the door. But they filmed what they could outside.

All depends on the money trail. There was a lot of money in this company a few years ago and now they are broke. I'm sure DOJ is looking at bank accounts and emails since 99 percent of the income is from the Feds.

I don't think this is related to edmc, unless I missed it? This was about Leslie Caldwell giving an interview saying ... "More people are going to be held accountable for big corporate crime" .... Basically ... Doj is going to be a little more "tough on crime" ... Not so weighted, and won't let as many ppl get away Scott free...so when something big happens like Enron ... The doj ideally should be attacking it as looking for the guilty at fault parties, instead of just the parent company, or a scape goat. She says it's not from critisim but it's probably from a combo of critisim and pressure to do it different than the past. If edmc were in her roster... I would think edmc a big case would have been mentioned as Pepsi and walmarts were.... But I didn't catch edmcs mentioned? She only has the test of this presidents term left bc a new group will appointed, edmcs case is already well established, if she is not already on it... Just odd it wasn't mentioned...

The name Caldwell may make it sound like this is related to edmc. Caldwell saying this in interview is not the Caldwell employees know as the Caldwell that is associated with edmc. Leslie Caldwell works for doj appointed by the president and if this was related to edmc, would be against edmc. C. Caldwell works for edmc/ art institute and she did not make these statements, is a completely different person and is completely unrelated to this....

Oh please, oh please, oh please investigate EDMC. I am sure there are more then a few that lived the Bernard Madoff lifestyle off the backs of struggling students and under appreciated instructors.
