Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

Am I the only employee who finds it interesting that a criminal investigation began only after lobbying monies stopped flowing?

I used to wonder how Enron happened, how Madoff screwed so many people. But one thing I have learned from this board, there is NO justice. If what's been reported in media and posted to this board is true, so much wrongdoing has gone on blatantly and without fear of recourse. I personally haven't seen anything illegal, but there are many, many things I've questioned. It's sad. Just sad.

It's funny you brought this up. I was talking with a coworker about a week ago about the same thing. Through CCi's history there have been numerous allegations and investigations that have all been handled with some kind of a payoff to the investigating department of government. Now that they have no money for lobbying or payoffs it's time for a Grand Jury criminal investigation. "Coincidence" or is this all part of Obama's Operation Choke Point. CCi deserves what it's getting but, if you haven't heard of Operation Choke Point I suggest you Google it. You may be alarmed at what the government is doing to legitimate businesses Obama and Holder don't like and have decided on their own to run out of business.

I see your point. Nobody is getting their palm greased.

That's like suggesting Ponzi schemes are most often revealed after collapse. As long as there is plenty of cash, everyone is happy. I highly doubt, however, that the lack of lobbying efforts caused the investigations.
