Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

Hey DS - this is for you!

Someone mentioned on the Socle-related post below that you made quite the impression with your Colorado Springs temper tantrum a month ago! That started lots of people (employees and ex-employees) reminiscing about how very special you are. I just wanted to guide you to that thread so you don't miss out on all of the wonderful things your loyal fans are saying about you! Have a great weekend, Champ!

106: I didn't care for SLS either. She would say different things to different people to gain their confidence and get info from them. Then she would share it in gossip sessions, usually also for the purpose of gaining someone else's trust. I always wondered how that works. If you gossip to me about other people, I'm not going to share my secrets with you, even if I don't like those people. She had some strengths, but had made some real enemies.

Are you kidding me!! SLS was a piece of shit she was the total definition of a TROLLLL!!!!! That's what everyone called her in the office. SLS is a back stabber who did not have anyone's good intensions in that office. She spoke about everyone behind her closed door. And she still does jealous BITCH!!!!!

Fun thread! I can't think of anyone I've ever worked with who deserves this more. As a previous poster wrote, he really is the definition of douchebag. Textbook.

Wow, 750+ views for a post and comments that should really only interest Socle folks. Are there that many of us past and present, or has DS's rep spread beyond our depressing halls? I'm not entirely surprised. Rarely has anyone I've worked with been so widely and strongly despised as DS. I'll bet lots of you are coming back several times to make sure you don't miss any fun comments (I have).

44489: Don't forget TP. Both KD and MH have freaky crushes on him (and with those three, "freaky" is definitely the correct word!). I've never been able to figure it out. He has got to be the creepiest looking and acting guy I've ever been around. He's repulsive. And on another thread they linked to his multiple DUIs and drug arrest and/or conviction (don't remember). They're just such a bunch of losers! Wow, I am so glad I dropped by today and read this. The weather is beautiful, I have a great job, and I just feel so thankful to not have to be around those weirdos. Have a great weekend everyone!

SLS was the only competent manager he HAD. When she left, that was a good sign that a bunch of shit was coming our way. It was nice to have a manager that actually knew our names and spoke to us. Lord, can you imagine the Christmas events being run by the guys? LMAO Those losers have no clue.

So, DS you SOB, you're reading this, huh? I'll bet you can't help yourself, reading it over and over. Thinking about where you can go if things don't work out for you. You've dug yourself into a big hole and made lots of enemies, you racist, woman-hating little freak. Just remember...karma is a bitch!

44492 - WTH? When did this happen? Hope she found something really great - I know she had been looking for a couple of years. How the heck can Socle run without SLS? What a pathetic circus it is!

481 - SLS is the only competent manager he has, but she doesn't fit in the "club" (only white dudes invited) so she's seen as everyone's subordinate. It's no different with the rest of the management team, even KD. In her case it must be jealousy cuz she's such a dog, but she certainly doesn't treat women as her equals. The only ones she tolerates are the ones that fawn over her and act like they're her BFFs. I think that's why DS gets away with so much over the top abusive behavior. She's got a little crush on him and he flirts with her sometimes. That was all it took for him to keep rising up.

426 - I was wondering if anyone else notice how badly he treats women. He is f**cking punk, you got that right. I used to hear him yell at SLS, so degrading. Then he would laugh about it after she left his office. He is a jackass, I bet his wife wears the pants and that's why we have to put up with is prick-like ways! We would be lucky for someone to hire him and him leave Socle.

He told us during the COS meeting he is ABSOLUTELY NOT looking for another job so he won't have to worry about what to put on his resume.

422 -- It's kind of a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. We're all in it. We can put CCi on our resumes, but most people have read something about our issues and at least subconsciously associate CCi with sleazy behavior. At least here in Florida Everest University has probably even more negative connotations. I wouldn't blame anyone for trying to pass off Socle as a totally different company. The job market is tough right now, tougher with something questionable on your resume, and toughest if you were a manager at a questionable company. I would be very surprised to hear that DS does NOT lie in answering that question, especially since he's already a cunning, self-centered little prick.

422: It's like they always say, "don't burn your bridges." That dude has burned his bridges with me, and just about everyone else he's ever worked with. He's a lazy, self-centered, abusive asswipe. I've worked in three locations at CCi (won't specify which for security reasons) and they have all had their share of jerks. This company seems to actively search out the biggest ones then promote them like crazy. DS is in a league of his own, though. There have been times when it took everything I had in me to not punch the crap out of him for the way he treats women. F***ing punk!

I'd love to be a fly on the wall when Dave is interviewing for a new job. How do you think he answers the following question "And why did you leave Corinthian Colleges for Socle in 2013?" It's always asked, and I'm guessing he's not forthcoming about the connection. Still, if he lies it makes it that much easier for his new company to get rid of him when they figure out how truly useless he is. I hope he's not looking in TB. Too many pissed off ex-employees who would be glad to fill their company in on their new hire's bad habits. Like the other poster from Citi. Guys like that make a lot of enemies.

OP -- Didn't you hear? Dave thinks you're "pretty stupid" if you use his initials because he thinks the whole point of that is to stop him from guessing who we're talking about. He cleverly deduced that the combination of "DS" "Socle" and "Douchebag" refers to him, and is very proud of that accomplishment. Yep, he's much, much smarter than we are alright!

I read the Socle thread and the comments here so far. So if I've got this straight, this "DS" is basically the definition of a douche, right? That word just keeps coming up over and over again. I'm Tampa EUO, and we have some real winners over here too. Sounds like maybe you get the blue ribbon, though, my Socle amigos. Hang tough!

44409 -- Ex-employee here, reading thelayoff.com as I have been for the past few Fridays since I found this site. At first I was wondering what was going on with CCi and worried about the peeps still stuck there. At this point it's just for pure entertainment, though. I still feel bad for the many good people I worked with who must be terrified about what's going to happen. To them: Good luck in landing on your feet! But I'm mostly here for fun. I LOVE hearing about how DS is still having his temper tantrums, and about all of the other bizarre behaviors that go on there! It makes me feel really grateful to be where I am. Peace out!

409, I don't think it's unhealthy actually. I've taken away some really good tips and habits from great bosses. I've taken away some very valuable lessons from the bosses I hate. Both situations make me a better person. Dave is not someone I would want to fashion myself after. And he's still our boss so I don't know what your point is.

Anonymous44409: Hmmm, I'm wondering who you are. I'm still with the company (though you can be sure I'm looking). I know we get quite a few trolls on this site, but I'm thinking they're more likely to be CCi management than ex-employees. And I'll bet it's a lot of fun for ex-employees to visit, since people dig the schadenfreude thing. The ex-employees I've kept in touch with are way, way happier and prob think it's hilarious that the chickens have come home to roost. They don't ever say that, though, cuz I guess they feel bad for me still being here. And it really, really does suck eggs.

It's very unhealthy for people to keep hating their bosses so much, especially someone who has already left the company. Some of you really need to move on and get over it.

406: I'll go with the meltdown option. Not that he seems particularly health-conscious, but he DOES have a meltdown at least twice a week, so it seems like the most likely outcome. I wouldn't rule out it being a massive enough meltdown that paramedics are called, though.

DS can give you the impression that he knows what he's doing and gets shit done, but only because the other execs around him are such Keystone Cops dunces. In any functional corporate environment it would be obvious that he's a complete and total incompetent. A complete and total asshole too, BTW. If you have the wrong impression of him, it'll be cleared up pretty soon when he has one of his freaky fits. He's really the definition of douchebag and creep. Funny to hear that he reads this site! Why am I even surprised?
