fed up with the sweat shop ways of cci

Please if consider the following changes ECMC

Step 1. Replace all management from the top /down to the chair level make them apply for their jobs and let the instructors interview them or vote for who we want to lead us. our years of experience have been overlooked because someone is put in leadership with an unrelated degree that does not apply to the fields of study.

Step 2. Sit down with the faculty and ask us how to make changes. And promote the faculty that is innovative to replace unqualified chairs that do not have expertise in the Fields of study riding our back drawing checks and kudo’s for our ideas and brainwashed in the cci ways that got us in trouble.

Step 3. Burn the stupid clappers re-brand immediately all Campuses.

Step 4. Put policies in place that quit pissing our students off...burn the uniforms and let us have a dress code that is respectful for working adults going to school.

Step 5. No faculty should have to work 7 days a week for months on end without a day off.

Step 6. Monday through Friday instructors should teach 1 five hour class in an 8 hour period 4 days a week.

Step 7. Week end instructors and students need 1 weekend off per month to take care of personal business. Also reduce weekend class hours in in class from 10 to 8 hours so not to burn out students and instructors.

Step 8. instructors should not have to prepare for class on our personal time remember we have been working 7 days a week with no days off for months on end. Please no more back to back classes. 8 hour day = 5 hours instructing + 1 hour to council students + 1 hour to interview potential students and help place students in their field of study + 1 hour for class prep and admin stuff.

Step 9. Student retention bonus + unused sick leave bonus for instructors.

Step 10. No instructor should have unused earned vacation at the end of the year. No instructor working 7 days a week should have to beg for time off.

Step 11. End all sweat shop practices immediately enable us to be happy to come to work we will fill your campuses with students .

Step 12. Stop all interruptions while class is in progress our students are not paying for this.

Step 13. Install card access to building and class rooms with magnetic secure locking doors..No student ID.. no entry for the safety of our students and faculty, also can be used for attendance tracking so not to take valuable instructing time away from our customers the students because the instructor is forced to track down students that are not in class while class is in progress.

Step 14. We the instructors are the experts in our field of study let us design the curriculum we are instructing we know what the local employers expect.

Wow, OP, I'm sorry I was never in one of your classes! I get the impression that you swapped a few classes during your MEd coursework. Maybe "Online Nutcase Ranting" for "Building a Coherent Argument"? How very modern and Fox News of you! Were you the guy who wrote the classic "Just Keep Mooin'! - A Bovine Approach to Avoid Lettin' Anyones Gets in a Word"? Wow, I loved that book! It helped me to finally comprehend that if you never stop ranting, you're keeping yourself too busy to notice people laughing at you. Valuable advice.

The real question to the OP, why were/are you still working for CCi given all of what you described? I'd imagine you could not find anything better, right?

49902: So, you come on a site like this demonstrating your illiteracy and total lack of knowledge of how a business functions, and I'M the troll?!? Put on your big boy pants and go look for a job. Preferably one with simple repetitive tasks and constant supervision so you don't get over your head again.

thanks for your input scumbag troll 49897 , but it has been more like a nightmare than a fairy tale, most of us truly care about our students, corporate greed keeps getting in the way of what we love to do and that is to help people get ahead

Wow, it's always amazing to me what a fairy tale world faculty live in. It's almost like a whiny five year old trying to negotiate with his parents and using magical thinking instead of logic. "If you give me lots and lots so I'm always happy the kingdom will be rich and successful and everyone laughing and eating pasghetti!" So, if I've got this right, if ECMC will only end CCI's "sweatshop" classroom practices, we will be filled to capacity with students? Please. If you were qualified to have a faculty position, you'd be on a tenure track at a regionally accredited non-profit. Take what you can get.
