Thread regarding Follett layoffs

New HO VP

Heard there is a new HO VP for visual merchandising? Anyone know where his previous experience is from? Didn't we already have a long tenured director in that role?

Everyone has had it up to their necks with the "ROFL WOW. KMART=FOLLETT" factor.

Nice to know that there is no opportunity for anybody to be promoted from within. Not with MLS and DG's buddies needing high payed executive jobs. We don't even bother to post promotional opportunities. The internal candidates who have given 10, 15, 20 years of their lives in dedicated service to Follett are not even worth consideration. Live the values! Follow the Code of Conduct! We ARE an equal opportunity organization!

Instead of hiring a new VP, maybe we should have hired another person to do planograms. There is only ONE person in the office that does this. That's why they are always late. Just too much work for one person as they all need to be updated at the same time.

Because you know we want our stores to have a WOW factor, so we bring in a guy from Kmart. That will do the trick.

Cut at the store level, add to the home office overhead.

Of course. If you are not from Kmart or Sears one has no value. When one of these piranhas jumps this ship to another company they will repeat the process and hire their cronies and of course the same outsourcing consultants companies.
