Mr. Simpson is a very smart man. It is likely that he knew what he was doing and went along for the ride (I.e., big money). He is kind and well-intended; however, he should have jumped ship when he recognized the deceit.

a very kind, yes-man, with a PhD and from a traditional university -- all looks good on paper. hired because the execs can control him. i'm sure it was a sobering day when he realized the mess he stepped into without the ability to make the changes needed (which i believe he really wanted to do - sad for him)
