I did not quit because of the sale/closure. I quit because Jenkins publicly blamed his instructors for the failure of students. That insult had a profound impact on my professional integrity. And it worked out great for me. I got a better paying job with a not for profit college. It's excellent and I'm treated with respect. I cannot still believe he made those comments. But I guess karma's a bitch. The school I work for now will be there for a very long time. Obviously CCI will not be. . . Thanks, Jenkins. You did me a huge favor! I owe you one buddy!

352, I can relate. You haven't lived until as an instructor, you are required to monetize your students in terms of drop risk, default or re enroll. Our cute little business model has bastardized the relationship between student and teacher.
They blamed us at our school too. No one in management can even teach nor have they ever. We even hire people without degrees for positions requiring a degree.
you're right. Thanks, Jack's family member/employee Shana M.
Shouldnt you be in your new employers layoff site?
360 - what is your problem? This is a board for info. If you don't like it, leave!
And what do you call yours? Post troll posts?
@356: Fellow instructors know, but public may be unaware - especially when Jenkins publicly blamed instructors. Move on with your troll posts.
Just wondering why you keep coming back here. Move on buddy. Your fellow instructors know it's bad. You're not saying anything new.
This is my last term at Everest Online. Faculty are SO disrespected by PL, PD, Dn, and CAO. They are blamed for everything and have so many Outreach responsibilities that they are constantly changing the Faculty Expectations. We no longer teach. We are forced to give high grades to work that is not even correct. Next we will be forced to provide a passing grade for work that is not submitted since nearly 90% of students don't bother participating and Everest needs to make it look like they are in order to keep the revenue stream going. This place is a disgrace.
And Tina S. tell your daughter Tiffany H. to make the courses more rigorous so that Everest Online can get past kindergarten level. After all, you two wrote some sort of book.
Just like Tina S. is blaming instructors on failure rates and putting them on mandatory improvement plans and meetings. Yo Tina, focus on the types of bottom of the barrel students you enroll in classes. They deserve to fail. Instructors are NOT the problem! They should not be pressured to pass students just to keep asses in classes!!
