Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

It was scary but I survived this one too. I asked myself would I get rid of this guy if i owned this company and I said yes.

I work at HFE Sugar land, TX. I'm a Tech so I was a little worried. This is how I see it- They let go people that should be retired by now but are just building their pension. As well as People that had poor reviews because of their attitude, lazyness and being a complete idiot. But they let go of a few that did not make sense. those few were hard workers. their manager probably had to chose one body. that sucks thats how it goes. I know of some people that should have been fired along time ago. They all have one trait in common. They can talk. yall know who im talking about. I wonder when get old and tired will i get treated like those old timers? maybe f*** it by that time i'll have my own wireline co. lol

Hey meforme1234, before you start mouthing off about people who should be retired by now you might want to reconsider your position. I could expand on this but I won't waste my time. People like you are just not worth it. BTW, I had 35 continuous year of service when I left SLB 2 1/2 years ago and could run circles around 10-15 years guys like you. By the way, do you have 10 years or 15 years. Or can you just not count?

10-15 years. I am a pretty good worker. I did f*** up and get into arguments with managers many times. after a lot frustration.I figured it out, these guys get moved up every 2 to 3 yrs, they don't know any better so i tell them what is expected of them. I will keep bustin my ass to make them look good so they should reward me with an awesome review. but not that bluntly. LOL those who haven't figure that out are gone. I wanted to leave a few times but, babies and house took priority.
