Uh, except that you can't export natural gas. Even if it was true, I agree that it would likely be blocked for one of a number of reasons.
It's true. After planned layoffs in the A&D department a sale will come soon thereafter. Here is the link to all the articles reporting on the buyout. Turns out AKM was right- Icahn brought Doug in to clean up the balance sheet and sell the company.(which may not necessarily be a bad thing if you own CHK stock).

And there are no anti-trust issues. The United States is awash with Natural Gas (have you seen Nat Gas prices lately?). Plus, India is an ally-providing India with Natural Gas will lessen their dependence on Russian Natural Gas, further destabilizing Russia and actually strengthening the United State's position.

How valid was that rumor, any ideas? I would have thought them more likely to buy into an operating interest, there's no way the anti-trust lets that international purchase go through.
