Weatherford is the worst company to work with. Incompetent Managers and Team leads are the major contributors to this company disaster. A team lead gave an explanation to one of his laid off employee who had worked with the company for more than six years that Weatherford want to progress. What a lousy argument? A very simple question to this learned team lead and the manager, what good you have done with the company for six years. If Weatherford was not progressing for that employee for six years, you were yourself incompetent to watch the interest of this so called good company. There are lot of other argument for his baseless explanation, but it is of no use. The management is playing in the hands of these UN professional guys.

Hi Friend,
I do agree with Mr.59075 that every place have a good and bad things. In my opinion a good managerial skills can play a big difference in the working environment. He may have been lucky enough to work with some professional people. I would like to quote a very simple example where a manager was so angry when an employee told the manager he is running short of memory on his desk top. The Manager made it a big issue for no reason. If you people think these are the managerial skills than God bless this company. On Contrary this manager gave every facility to one of his/her favorite for whom everyone in that section was aware of his/her incompetency. I have lot lot of arguments but as I have told you it is of no use. This manager was on the top of the list of Management. It reflect the cartel culture in Weatherford. These unprofessional guys are scratching the back of management and in return management is doing the same thing.
I have worked for several companies over the years and Weatherford is by far the best ever! Three weeks holidays the same year you are hired, you don't have to wait a year to get them. Awesome benefits and pay is awesome too! I work with a great bunch of people and if lay offs happen in my area it will be a very sad day to lose some really great dedicated coworkers and friends! Keep praying the oil prices will turn around for all of us!
Sounds like you haven't been in the oilfield very long. Weatherford is no different than any other corporation. It has it's positives and negatives. It has provided my family and I a decent living for over 20 years. Your goal should be to find those negatives and try to improve on them. I have seen several of these slumps and guess what? We made thru all of them ( as we will this one). Dig deep, do your best, and be positive about what you do.
Where did this happen, and what group?
