Halliburton and Schlumberger have announced layoffs but Baker is silent. Why don't they ever tell us anything?

no layoffs in aberdeen as of meeting with management on wed we have heard
What happened in Aberdeen?
aberdeen bod-looks like the end of the road after 40 years.
I'm thinking it's going to hit Houston tomorrow. Based on "hinting" comments and the strange behavior of management since late last week. A lot of closed doors and long faces.

The vast majority of my friends work in the oil business. They've always asked why i'm not and decided to be in HVAC instead. I just got hired at a new company with a nice pay raise, while they are unsure how much longer theres will last.
As per the workers are the last to no!
7000 layoffs announced for Baker
http://fuelfix.com/blog/2015/01/20/baker-hughes-profit-rises-in-fourth-quarter/
See Houston Chronicle this morning, 7,000 job cuts 1st quarter of 2015.
Because Baker Hughes just made record revenue of $6.6 billion for the quarter, record earnings per share and record free cash flow for the year. As a result, the company is well positioned financially for the months ahead. In the current low oil price situation, Baker Hughes can withstand up until summer. By then, it is Halliburton's problem as they will take over after the merger in the end of 2015. However, it will take a long, long time before the complete merger happens as this one is a complex case.
houston and aberdeen next.....production moved to poland
I'm not sure why people are saying there are no layoffs in Baker. People are being laid off left, right and centre. Every day I hear of more.

Because you know that or because you are an optimist?
