UMass Amherst is the school going with Amazon, not UMass Boston. Likely, UMass Boston will go to B&N. I know of the Store Manager at UMass Boston and he is not a strong leader. However I believe more of this falls on Mike Mc and not the store management.

A well managed campus store doesn't often get flipped.

Is this different than UMASS Amherst? And it is not the bookstore management team, it is the new leadership team who is responsible.

As a previous senior leadership person said "a small percentage on a big number is a big number"

The new operating model is the school contract directly with Amazon and receive 5% of EVERYTHING they sell. Then have other providers like Aramark services, Follett and BN run a small convenience store inside the student union.

Heartfelt congratulations to management team at the UMASS store. You guys made history by stinking up the joint so bad a new operating model was carved out in your wake.

Very impressive work, fellas.
