Thread regarding Weatherford International Ltd. layoffs

The health insurance cycle is through this Saturday. An employee terminated prior to Saturday will not incur another monthly cost.

I've seen 20 plus terminated in the last 3 days. If it costs WFT a $1000 in benefits to keep you for another month, timing makes sense.

This is the 1st round. Don't spend time bitching, rather go persue gainful employment .

Don't ask for my area or PL.

Agreed, $20,000 is a drop in the bucket.... But if you were to eliminate 10% of 6500 (rough US employee headcount) then that is $650,000 monthly and $7,800,000 annually. This is just health insurance costs.

Make no mistake, $12000 in annual benefits plus salery savings will drive the depth of the cuts.

I doubt that they are managing this to a $20,000 level, it's a drop in a bucket, more headache than anyone needs for a fairly small sum. Just me thinking..
