Thread regarding Baker Hughes Inc. layoffs

Are Layoffs Different This Time Around?

Hi all - do you feel that this round of layoffs is a bit different than the previous rounds we went through. I survived four rounds so far but this time there is more uncertainty and more anxiety, I think. I think that the acquisition is fueling this as that is another unknown, before we'd just need to figure out how many will be cut due to slower business, but now we do not know how Halliburton is impacting all of this and where are they dictating the breadth and width of the cuts. What are your thoughts?

Look for 30% cuts (20K+) in BHI jobs (spread all over company) with oil price drop and merger over the next 18 months

I think people fear that this will be the biggest round of cuts - that's my opinion
