Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Bring back the good leaders

Not all the outsiders have been bad for Follett. There was a guy in HR at the main office (Chris something) who was really really good. Problem is that he didn't stick around. He was making a BIG difference but must have seen the writing on the wall... because he was gone in less than 6 mos. Bring those kind of people in... but figure out how to keep them. Trust is earned--can't be bought and sold like txtbooks!

Big improvement under Mary Lee's watch. The culture isn't broken, it has been DESTROYED. Functional processes are now a complete disaster.

I would like to get some of what you are smoking. Maybe since you are not in the home office you don't see the full extent of what is going on. ML has been here 3 years!!!!!!! Board member for previous 12 years!!!!!!!

Nice post 62678! Please explain what Marylee's plan is beyond BS and bluster!!! No plan has been communicated unless you consider threats and intimidation a plan.

don't know why I look at this b****fest, guess it's like crack. i'm not in the chicago office, but i have to say that this isn't about any one person or one situation... rather lets talk about culture. follett culture has been in freefall for a while now and nobody seems to be addressing the reasons why. people at home office are not transparent... okay, check that but at the end of the day we all need to admit that heads buried under the sand for years hurt us. either we come together under marylee's plan now and try to fix a broken culture or keep suffering the consequence. be the change you want to see in the world folks!

I liked Margie. I loved Chris. I hate that people who have a vision are leaving. But I am going to stick it out and see if things change. Keep the faith people. This company is not as bad as this board makes it seem.

It's like they put these new "leaders" in positions to carry out their dirty work.

Margie leaving on her terms. She is smart and see the future. She (and you) can do better.

If we're talking about the Chris with the reddish beard, he wasn't a VP (or a SOB). I doubt he got jack when he left. Anyway sounds like red flags everywhere if all that is going down in HR

Angela may have filed a discrimination lawsuit. This maybe the impetus for lynch's abrupt departure.

I'm sure that SOB got a better deal than those who were abused to the point of leaving. They got 20+years of experience that ended horribly and nothing else. I'm sure a VP has a parachute to shut him/her up. Corrupt, disgusting, undeniable.

Chris laid me off. But I still like him. Can't help myself. He's just a cool dude. Wonder where he went??

I know right-I just heard that the new VP of HR for FHEG has given notice. Less than a year.
