On thursday 01/29 my department was reduced to a couple of employees. I was called over and told my job function was redundant and eliminated effective immediately. Was walked to the HR department signed paperwork and the lady told me they had more coming. I came back to clear my desk and another coworker was cleaning his. Two coworkers where called into a brief meeting and resumed working while i was cleaning my desk.

I was let go in a similar fashion on Jan. 15th, I requested four training programs this yr that were all rejected (one, I even offered to pay for). Frustrating, but wish the m well.
Has anyone heard if direct labor has been layed off ?
St James has been letting people go since 2 wks ago. Apparently they're going through each department/product line.

I believe it. That's how it happened last year in the department next to me.
