Actually guys. I just received word Friday. Total of up to 20,000 more will be let go just in USA alone. Overseas up to 5000. Also as for as buying baker. The way it will work in each district. Who ever is bigger in that district will take over. So example if baker is bigger say in artisia New Mexico then baker runs the show. Halliburton shuts down. Maybe move out equipment or bring some to baker yard. Some people will go and some stay. Or visa versa. Trust me.

The sentence on repercussions is right on. HAL should consider itself lucky that it won't be inheriting non core businesses that have nothing to do with oil services.
The takeover by HAL of BHI was not a factor in the recent layoffs and maybe not in upcoming rounds should market conditions continue and rig count continually drop. These layoffs were more of exec management kissing Wall Street bootie so that the investors could have their profits. Repercussions of the merger the synergies, if you need to sugarcoat it, will come when the deal is done and drag out as business lines are dropped or sold off, nobody job is secure. Everybody is cannon fodder. What is the percent chance HAL will need to purge again before July?

Get the Guardia Civil to round up the sheep from both HAL and BHI. Although the postings on the BHI board are more informative both boards have many people who are not contributing to the conversation.
