The Q is already or has been hitting middle management by cutting the many extra benefits of the executive plan. Essentially they are getting the same coverage as a new hire. They truly have lost that connection with their employees. It use to be a company that really cared about their workers under the great Dr. Irwin Jacob. Granted now Q is in a different place business wise but I don't think Dr. IJ would sell his soul in lieu of taking care of his own, the very people that made Q to where it is today.

If I run Q
a) Remove the titles of people : No titles. Everyone is employee....and managers.
b) Performance to be evaluated by everyone. You can review everyone and anyone you want. You can write whatever you are writing on this site. The evaluation team will include HR person and technical person from not reporting to that VP. RTP will be reviewed by SD, SD by BDC and so on.
c) Evaluation happens once a year.
d) Every Manager should have a limit of X no. of reports, director should have Y no. of reports, VPs should have Z no. of reports.
e) For every failure...the VP will take a 10% pay cut..if two groups are involved their VPs will share the pay cut.
f) Ownership....if one VP takes ownership of project he will be responsible for it...and other VP's who are providing collaterals to him will be accountable to him on the quality of the collaterals...no blame game... if the thing doesn't work the owner VP is responsible. no collective responsibility.
g) No repeat of work....one group doing software, hardware... there is one circuit group which reports to RTP, one to BDC , one to SD etc, on to Austin....none of this.....on VP controlling one complete division..
Probably hire Ellipses as CFO then make Nostalgia director of business development
