my salary is ~$115k/year.. I put in about 70 hours/week minimum.. that's roughly.. $31.59/hr.. so really I only make ~$66k/year.. plus stress/pressures/anxieties.. it's priceless!!

Generally, will they check your car if you're a middle class asian driver with a japanese luxury car? It would be my first time into mexico...I guess it's just a game of chance. I think it would benefit the drug lords if they used different people every time to cross the border

In San Diego, you can make a lot more money on the side by crossing the border and back, but do you really want to do that? Question is really do you enjoy what you do, or, it only matters that you make more money? If it is the money, then maybe you should do the border crossing.
The calculator is dumb. In Bay Area, you will find another job after layoffs, whereas in San Diego, you will not.

$164K for senior staff engineer in Bay Area. Been senior staff for a long time now almost 5 years. Most weeks at least 50 to 55 hours, thankfully no weekends. Add another 30% for bonus and RSU combined.
Restaurant manager at Red Lovtster is $65K.
~140K/yr base, working 55-60hrs/wk. I would say 30% of my time is spent dealing with the various qcom bureaucratic processes that are in place
