Thread regarding Education Management Corporation layoffs

You know I'm right.

99.9% of the online recruits can't speak english. Even though they were born and raised in America all they can do is grunt and speak with an Urban Twang to be politically correct. So the warm calls or more like ice cold calls. For those trying to make this place sound like a legit business, please stop. We all know its not. Corpoate wants you to prey on the uneducated who actually think they are tricking you into "giving" them the pell grant.

Not defending them. It's the fact that EDMC is not a scam because they exist. Veterans that cheat the system and dependent that do shoul not be doing but they do. The people that think edmc is scam because they think somehow edmc is corrupting these students to do this are down right wrong. Nothing about these schools says take out loans to get a stipend. The bbay actually makes students get less money than a semester system. The truth is this happens EVERYWHERE and people need to get their heads out if their asses realize this. I get you may know people from state schools who did not do this. I know ppl who went state schools and private schools who have done this and that's why I have my perspective. I think it was cnn that did a documentary called the ivory tower. It doesn't go into stipends in stuff but talks about whether if schools worth it. Now days kids are going to school for the party, the rock wall, bad ass condo. It's not about classss, it's selling a life for four, 5,6 years how many years the student stays. Your tax dollars are paying for students rent, gym membership, food, amenities and a lot if other things that a lot of people that are paying taxes don't have the luxury of.

To the people defending the dependents of this country: I know countless students who went to state schools and took out loans. They took out loans to pay for their tuition. These were smart people who knew they had to put the work in, in order to succeed in life. The fact you are defending these people who work the system on a daily basis is disgusting. You should be pissed off that you wake up everyday, and work hard just to see your money go to people who sleep until 3 everyday. You are the reason these people feel entitled to EVERYTHING. I wish I could sit around and do nothing all day while the government throws money at me. I feel bad that you are so blind to the fact that YOUR tax dollars are funding these system workers.

The idea that people "work the system" everywhere is completely false. Never once have I heard of a student going to a legitimate university solely to receive a stipend. It doesn't happen. This is strictly a side effect of for-prpfit schools who exploit minorities because the minorities want to exploit the system also. For profit schools are designed to be exploited. Its part of their business model. From my years in admissions I would say the vast majority of students are there for cash and very few actually want an education.

You are a dumbass if you think any of these overpriced degrees are worth anything. Art Institutes are a joke in every community where they operate. Then again if you work there you already are a dumbshit.

You guys must either be newbies at EDMC online and drank the juice, or 2+ year veterans. Regaurdless it's soooo cute how you try to defend the "students" and the company. Who cares if Veterans are trying to get the most money. They are actually fighting for your freedom and our country. If I could I would them a check to go to school. They have done something besides get out of bed.

Thank you 547. You have a lot fewer typos that the Rhodes Scholar who made the first post. For someone who thinks that our students "can't speak English," he/she needs quite a few grammar lessons.

You keep posting. Clearly you have your opinion and we get it. You think the students here have poor English and are not good candidates for school. If you work there, just quit already. Seriously. I do work there and I every time read one of your posts I am instantly disgusted. These students are students. Some students may be going to school for the wrong reasons but YOU are uneducated if you think this is the only school that has students going to school with the pell grant in mind. State schools are worse, students go there and get a big ole check each semester. Could be about 8000 with pell and state grant depending on the state. Same with the person the continuously posts about how this school preys veterans. Yes veterans go here and yes the go bill pays for school. The problem? How about all the websites where veterans talk about what you have to do to get the most money back??? Are those sites from the university? No. They are from students trying to work the system. Which happens everywhere. The students that enter and can not succeed do not persist. The students that do presist are working hard in each class. I've taken the classes and there is NO way to just pass. Look up a bell curve or some simple statistics... And apply it. In all institutions you will have those that just get by, those that are on the bottom, and the over achieves. The average group will be the majority.

Seriously just quit though. You obviously are not fit for thus role and you are recruiting in the wrong way. Figure it out. Have some respect and think about what you are saying.

Yes I might have typos everyone (I typed on my phone and this simple forum so there you are)
