Texas Dependence on Oil

The problem is so much of Texas' economy is tied to the oil industry. When times are awesome and they are drilling tons in small towns the restaurants get more busy, build new houses and hotels and generally effect the local economy. Places like Edna and Cuero built new hotels and now they have the potential to sit pretty much empty. It is very nice to have a break in the gas price, but Texas relies on oil and gas too much and it will hurt jobs and overall health of the economy. Do not get me wrong, I am sorry some of you might be let go, I am just trying to point out that we should diversify our economy to decrease dependence on oil.
