Rumor at our shop is each supervisor and shop lead hand was told to write down 3 names. Heard this Monday. Today, we were informed we are no longer allowed to go to the tool crib for supplies. Instead, we are to contact a supervisor or shop lead hand and they will decide if we really need what we need. Wow, I've been a machinist for over 3 decades and now I have to ask a boss for a rag or insert???? The barrier between management and the floor (which had been dropping) just shot back up twofold. We've been through this before. Hopefully we will make it again. Most of us are anticipating a layoff this week.

i hear D-Day is coming soon for the rest of Ampscot. Good luck to all the CNC operators left there, there are no machinists left, only operators, DON'T kid yourself. What goes around comes around, and if anyone I know from there comes around here with a resume, they will get no sympathy from me. Karma.
Still open, but they got no orders this month. Houston guys are coming up for a meeting soon here. They think it's shut down. But yeah, basically a china production. Just machined and assembled in Canada, some welding. I know they are failing, quality reasons, due to Chinese casting.
Ampscot is still running? All made in China with Canadian label! No wonder.
Sounds like an Ampscot employee in Nisku.
