Honeywell will be recruiting at Grace Hopper in 2 weeks (15000 mostly millennials looking for jobs, 90% women), in Houston. Last week of October, they'll be in Philadelphia at Society of Women Engineers. 9000 there. And Bob Smith is getting a big award about being a great male ally.

Then in November they will be in Seattle at the Society of Hispanic Engineers, also recruiting. (They've already attended Black Engineers and Native American... so those won't happen again until next spring.)

Since Honeywell doesn't pay regular engineers to go to conferences, we should all get sock puppet twitter accounts and live tweet during those conferences with the conference hashtag. I guarantee that the entire conference-going population will see it, plus members who can't attend and who will be watching the tweet stream.

Most of the people attending will definitely have a choice in employer. And most millennial women will eventually have families. Most such women will have partners/spouses who are also engaged in raising a family.

Telecommuting is an important option on the other end of the age and gender spectrum. The most typical telecommuter is older (50+), college educated, salaried, non-union employee. Sounds like a typical HON engineer. Now they don't want to retain us old white guys but tweeting to #aarp would also cause a stir because they are big advocates of telework for older folks for health reasons.
