CWA 1101/3 is causing trouble for all locals with WFH

According to my steward here in New Jersey, 1101 or 1103, whatever local covers the CSSC in New York, is the biggest hold out to Work From Home being permanent. Can anyone from New York verify this? Why would they have the power to prevent the rest of the locals from negotiating in good faith for their members? Are they really that hateful of their membership?

lol at the union crying about raises and living in NYC. Sounds like union propaganda, claiming the wages they offer can getting you living on Park Avenue. Work from Home is good for the company and they know it, the members know it, and the union fights against it.

If cwa can get the 50 percent raise needed to live in NYC its employees can live in NYC

@2idw+1b1gv2L5: see, T1ts... the way the businesses world works is... you're assigned where you're needed. Not where you want to be. We need you in NYC, not where you moved to. So suck it up, shut up, and, pretend you've got a pair. Get to work, or make way for someone who can get the job done. I'm sure you can find work as a maid, or waitress in the town you'd like to live in.

We all know the union is against it! We all know the company is 100% for it. We all know that 99.9% of members want to be home permanently. Lastly, we all know the union will blame it on the company fictitiously.

Don’t need home base. Just need union and verizon to transfer everyone where they want to be. More than half of nyc employees no longer live in nyc and have moved

Those du----s kids probably have du----s parents too. Unable or unwilling to help their kids prosper. But let’s penalize the teacher.

Wow! That's a pretty strong reaction..
I bet $10000 this guys g@sh is an incapable "teacher" that's hiding behind the union.
To make things smoother at work, she submits to her principal during detention and goes home only to make him clean up his cre@mp1e.
Poor guy!

I just heard from a VERY trusted buddy that the CWA will be allowing home base if we agree to an increase in dues. They're working out how much now

Typically, parents send their children to schools for 8 hours a day to get a basic education from professionals we call "teachers". To put a fine point on it... it is the teachers primary job to get the children prepared for life with this basic education, and the parents are typically not directly involved in this process. In fact, parents are typically quite far from the school. This is the job the teacher agreed to. The prosperity of the community is not hidden. The teacher agrees to do their job in that community. With a little research, any potential teacher can find out working conditions at any school they're considering working at. Little, if anything is hidden. It is the teachers fault if they get in over their head.
If children are failing, that means the teachers are failing to teach effectively, or in a way that engages the child.
How is it not the teachers fault EXCLUSIVELY?
Is the parent responsible for the teacher being unable to do the job they agreed to? If so, HOW?
Is the parent responsible for hiring the teacher? They trust the Principal (also a teacher) to hire effective teachers. If the parents need to get involved, then why do we even have teachers?
As usual, the union's purpose is to shelter and coddle the ineffective, lazy and incapable.

The mid-state union reps said to the techs at garage meetings, they hate the idea of home garaging, and they wanted it stopped.. this is factual.. they don’t like it, so they will fight against it, even though the majority of the members love it...

If there’s a top ten for threads on the layoff, this on would clearly be in it. I think people are starting to realize things aren’t how they’re supposed to be.

Most bad schools aren’t the teachers fault, It’s bad parents. But wth do teachers have to do with the union not negotiation on behalf of their members?

@1koi+1b1gv2L5: we could apply the same ideas to the teachers union too. Build on the idea of school credits. Each student has $xx.xx per class (not school). The student doesn't move, he attends each teachers class remotely. The teacher can reside anywhere they want... they just have to maintain certification for the state they teach in. The teachers are ranked by student performance... salary is tied to performance and how many students apply for their class. Those that perform are rewarded for their skills, knowledge, and ability. Those that are just there for summers off, fall to the wayside naturally.

We love home based CSSC... maternity related health insurance costs are way down now that CWA THOTs can't just bend over for every bull in the office that wanders by.

Ah, yes... the dashboard. So, you think that info is actual? We haven't put straight data there since the last strike. Are you telling us that you can't think of 100 reasons it would be advantageous to feed the reps altered data?

Last guy is full of it!! Absence is down, aht has been better, No abuse of personal, no overage on ACW, etc, etc. These numbers are easily viewable on the dashboard every single day!!! Only people who want us back in the office is the union. The trolls saying numbers are bad are probably union stewards who are lonely because their job is becoming less relevant

I've been watching the stats for years now. Yes, when the lockdown started, there was a slight uptick in performance on average. However, as it became apparent lockdown was going to be long term, performance dropped off steadily and consistently until the vaccine became available at the end of 2020. At that point, talk began about returning to normal. Performance stats began recovering in an obvious effort to show WFH was viable. So, yes, performance is better now. If you consider the whole lockdown, though, the CWA has taught us that they will slack off when they think WFH is secure.

Id--ts lying about numbers being worse than in the office. The cssc is excelling with Work From Home! Numbers are up across the board.

Techs, on the other hand, are the laziest we got. But this is a post about the cssc

If wuf1u did anything, it shined a light on how lazy union workers are.
The people fighting return to work hardest are nearly all union... why? WFH is the path of least resistance. All the difficult people... managers, directors, parents, principals, students... are distanced from them. That distance provides a cozy little cushion that they don't want to give up.
If WFH continues, we need to do some sort of job restructuring. Maybe reps are paid by call. Call Work is unpaid. Some sort of incentive to keep AHT in line. Higher pay for high demand periods. Something more in line with the gig economy. Those that want work will get paid.

What’s the problem? Pandemic is in control, there are vaccines available for those that want them. Why shouldn’t we go back to our locations, and try to get back to normal?
Especially with the lack of working trucks, if they’re not at the garage and you need one, you’re out of luck.

Rofl, 1101 is making sure you’ll never get to keep work from home!! They’re telling their membership it has to do with receiving money from Verizon for each office that’s open, nothing to do with losing jobs.
