Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

February 2021 Layoff Discussion

Thanks to everyone who has shared layoff information on this board over the years. The accuracy has been spot on. The February cuts were shared here first back in November (@OP+17KFmZOR, @OP+17VISkiL). We now find ourselves on the eve of the inevitable next round.

Let's use this space to share what we're seeing and hearing Monday and Tuesday.

Good luck, comrades.

First off, everyone here needs to calm down and relax. There are no layoffs scheduled this week. Not tomorrow, not the next day, not next week, not two weeks from now. Most of what people have been posting here is just false information, baiting people into a frenzy. The sad part is so many people are buying into this. Second, I am an officer level manager, and I know what I am talking about. Tomorrow and Tuesday will just be another day, and they will come and go. We will have the scheduled all hands, which were planned a while ago, even though the invites were sent out recently. Don't read too much into all this.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

@1wyh+19iLS9E9 I can't speak to what cuts are happening tomorrow other than the rumors that technology will be cut heavily. I can somewhat speak to the offshore comment. I'm also on the TDA side. Take a look at the Schwab org chart. Anyone can view it. It's ridiculously weighed heavily on offshore employees. Shockingly so coming from TDA. Seems like nearly 25 offshore for each 1 onshore. If not higher.

So I read Schwab STS is cutting back. But is this technology service something client facing or internal? I also saw something about offshore technology which I find hard to believe a company like schwab would use. This is coming from the perspective of a TD employee where there aren’t any offshore techs
