So many companies are pushing RTO and we all know in 2023 that it makes no sense.
Unless you consider who owns the buildings our offices are in.
Wall Street. Incestuous boards of directors, REIT's, investors.
For most work, there is no need to RTO, but leaving those investors high and dry isn't an option.
There's some discussions about converting office space, especially in downtown areas, into residential. This would be very expensive and would take years.
The infestors, I mean, investors, who we all lease our office space from want things to go back to pre-pandemic times.
And the people with the money usually get thier way.
That's probably 95% of the RTO issue, the other 5% being the much discussed C level exec's wanting to look out over their minions, it makes them feel complete.
