Follow the RTO Money

So many companies are pushing RTO and we all know in 2023 that it makes no sense.

Unless you consider who owns the buildings our offices are in.

Wall Street. Incestuous boards of directors, REIT's, investors.

For most work, there is no need to RTO, but leaving those investors high and dry isn't an option.

There's some discussions about converting office space, especially in downtown areas, into residential. This would be very expensive and would take years.

The infestors, I mean, investors, who we all lease our office space from want things to go back to pre-pandemic times.

And the people with the money usually get thier way.

That's probably 95% of the RTO issue, the other 5% being the much discussed C level exec's wanting to look out over their minions, it makes them feel complete.

In life, always follow the money kids.

Things are a little less rosy when looking at the labor force participation rate and the number of people collecting welfare.

Hey, to the people saying "people don't want to work"...

Please explain how it is that we're at record levels of employment, and unemplyment is at a 50 year low.

Seems like most people not only want to work, but are actually working.

You're going to need to find some new fantasy to use to make yourself feel superior to others. :-)

Oh is this why kids are back in school?? Truthfully you have a ton of coworkers who don't want to work and try to use computer issues to get out of working. While some do have issues, many just don't want to work. It's funny when I tell a rep they may need to head into the office to work, sometimes they stop having PC issues. Take it how you want it. But we ALL need to return to the office. Full time not this hybrid bullsh-t

Big banks have a huge stake in these buildings not only occupied but adding more to the skyline…

Victory or death comrades. Without us this company doesn't make $20B+ a year. All these hacks in NYC do is consume oxygen and make us miserable as part of their "genius" plan to save severance costs. They won't be around forever. We can outlast them and their backwards and archaic policies.

It’s all predatory. Companies. CEOs. Boards. The 1%. They all feed off of the rest of us. God forbid that the 99% of us that fund their lavish lifestyles and rockstar salaries should have a moment of peace and actual work/life balance. They keep us down because if we look up we’ll realize that we’re the reason why they’re sitting at the top of the corporate/societal pyramid scheme. They’ve lied and cheated their way to the top. They realize we can see them for the performative frauds they are. They’re scared. RTO is the best they can do to try and put a leash on us again. The problem with that is that once the bell has been rung, it can’t be unrung.

I saw an interview with a ceo recently where he admit that his office cost the company too muhc money but he says there is something about the office that makes the company feel real. I say just give up and go to the office. We need them more they need us and the rich always win.

I say fight to settle for hybrid or you will lose your job. Dont tell me you dont need the job either because everybody would have left their jobs already
