Thread regarding Fidelity National Information Services Inc. layoffs

Who's safe?

Do you know of any teams that survived all recent layoffs intact?

The Regional and Community core demo presenter teams (sales) have not been affected by any RIFs at this point.

@aq They did some layoffs in our PS dept and forced everyone else to being contractors. Lose-lose situation. Refusal to move means no severance. Move to contracting? Lose your severance. Many that were shifted were very close to retirement, likely because they couldn’t afford severance. I have heard a rumor that they have a contract with that company for 1 year that states they cannot be let go until that point at a minimum, but I’m unsure if it’s true. Be very cautious if you are working on a legacy system.

Regardless, look out for yourself first. The best time to find a job is when you have one. I do not advise waiting. Minimally, make sure you carefully detail how much you would need as an emergency fund with and without severance. That is your security blanket.
