Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Vacation not earned yet

If we suspect that we will be RIFd can we use up our future vacation? Would it be deducted from our final pay or have to pay back?

I may have used up all of mine for a nice long trip earlier this year. LMAO definitely don’t realize we’d be here looking at VSP and RIFd.

You can go 1 week in the red, good question, I wonder if they would subtract that out from your severance or just let you have it.

Take your PTO !!! We can only borrow up to 40 hours so if anything, the most you would owe them is 1 week of pay !!!! So do not leave 1 min of your time for this company that doesn’t care about you !!! You are just a CN number !!!! From the bottom to the top, even lazy Sarah has a CN number and one day she will be gone too

I wouldn't use anything that hasn't yet accrued. You run the risk of having to pay it back if RIF'd.

What I’ve been doing is checking how much PTO i would have accrued by a certain date, lets say 8/32/2026, then request PTO based on how many hrs i have left, make sure it isn’t negative. Theres only so much we can do.

@a3 the policy is not in the handbook.

it is in archer. policy cc.humr.41.

@OP I’d recommend checking the official employee handbook for the vacation policy, or you can ask HR or your supervisor directly.

the policy states that it would be reducted from your final paycheck.

however, I would proceed with caution with PTO requests going forward.

I already had a request submitted prior to all of this and if RIF’d, my PTO balance would be in the negative. I will not be cancelling my plans though.
