Employees that were laid off in Nov 2025 were able to keep their employee discount on phone plans for 1 year. Why isn’t the same being offered to employees let go on 07/16?

Because the 2025 layoff was 13k people. Assuming an average of 4 lines per employee account, they didn't want a mass exodus of 50,000+ lines. They're all about the optics and padding the numbers. But extending the discount for a yeae is just a delay of the inevitable.
This doesnt make sense. Why not just finish out the current contract as it is or they will surely churn and move to the blue or magenta team! They will gladly take new customers and yes new customers have better deals than employees, that is crazy!
@c8 correct and also a free phone upgrade. Phone how people Don't know anything at the place they work which is why always the same questions
@OP do we get any time with the discount, even if not a year? I will drop these lines faster than a hot potato bc I am not going to pay full price, nope not happening.
@bn I believe retirees get the FiOS discount
That wont help the churn rate !
@c8 for a year? For longer? Band 7 here
Actually new customers have better promo than the 50% employee gets.
@bn managers and above get to keep the full discount
This is the first I’ve heard that some employees got a 1 year EPP discount continuation.
@bn It all has to go to the executives, after all they're the ones making those great decisions that have made Verizon such a successful company. /s
It is really sad that Verizon doesn't give long term employees a life long phone discount. Especially employees who were dedicated for 10 years or more. Many companies offer life long perks for employees. Too bad...
Because they will give less and less as layoffs continue.
