Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Merry Christmas

To all the managers that are giving bogus reviews and letting people go before Christmas, rest well... You could be next! Your job can be moved offshore at any time too. Keep drinking the Kool-aid they are serving. They are NOT for the employees. It's all about GREED! Merry Christmas!!!

@eh Let's not forget Bailando Alejandro, the bald CAO with the disco‑ball dome, who is absolutely in on the reindeer games—twirling through HR like he’s auditioning for Compliance on Thin Ice. Since everything rolls up to him, he’s slicing org charts and facilities with the confidence of a deli clerk who knows the bologna spoiled yesterday but keeps selling it anyway.
He shimmies, he signs, he serves up another transformation sandwich nobody ordered, available at a global‑site‑local near you. A rotten NY‑style deli in human form—counting misaligned, unneeded bodies, but always on beat.

I 100% hold my manager accountable for my layoff experience. He was so grossly unprepared to have the conversation and got an attitude when I asked for HR's number to learn more about final pay, 401k, etc. So contrary to those defending managers as victims and being forced to have these convos, I say fu-k the ones who can't even act like a human during these layoffs.

@b5 lets remove head from a-s. Whose paying the bills when they “resign” cause thats your bright idea? This detail was dumped on direct managers! Not told or planned in advance. You wouldn't resign from sh-t in this economy with no immediate backup plan so take a seat

@b9 Our HR chief is a willing servant and definitely in on the hoax. Her comp plan has incentives tied to stock options that will pay handsomely - well in excess of $10M this year. The 'cha ching' noise sounds whether thru real estate consolidations, offshoring, RTO, attendance policies, eliminating work from home, bogus PIPs, replacing experienced with inexperienced labor, hiring state college grads to garnish tax incentives, age discrimination and terminations without severance, use of contractors and H1Bs. SH is the ladle that stirs and protects the EC's pot of gold.

@a3 HR is part of the hoax. Scrooge hired a puppet that he's pulling the strings on. Remember, HR is not for the employees. The are to protect the company. Any respectable HR person was gone years ago. Business partners used to be involved in layoffs. Now it's managers that she like frightened puppies doing what their told. Put on some big boy or girl pants. Ethics is out the window!

“Not the ones being forced to deliver the messages” give me a break. You resign before you do something you’re being ‘forced’ that you don’t feel is ethical. My former manager told me it was business partners who reached out to her about my leading a project, thus why she replaced me. Didn't inform me I was being replaced just added another person to the project. Guess what, when I called her out, she admitted it was her that didn’t want me as lead. That wouldn’t have fit into the bogus yearend review SHE had written up. If your manager is giving you the review, they need to own what they’re saying.

@a3 realistically, what would HR do?

If you want to send a message then go to HR. The ones changing the ratings are not the ones being forced to deliver the messages. And They're all aware their a-s could be next which is why many arent creating waves and staying out of the spotlight. Writing it on here isnt going to change that. Go to ethics or hr
